Guidelines

The Portfolio aims to assess your ability to use the target structures appropriately

in written form. Two (2) writing tasks will be assigned to be worked on

autonomously and handed in for feedback. To this end, please consider the

following:

  • Drafts will be submitted upon your teacher’s request (no later than Friday

October 14th). Canvas/assignments/Portfolio.

  • The unit’s key grammatical structures should be underlined in both, drafts and

final copies.

  • You may use the “Editing Checklists” in your book to guide your editing process if

needed.

  • Writing pieces should be 200- 250 words long divided in several paragraphs.
  • The final copies should be presented for formal assessment in the portfolio no

later than Thursday October 20th. Canvas/assignments/Portfolio.

First Writing Assignment Instructions: Write a five-paragraph essay (200- 250 words) on an electronic device of your choice. Remember to use the simple present, present progressive, present perfect and present perfect progressive. (Focus on grammar pg. 16) Remember to underline the present time verbs (Simple Present, Present Progressive, Present Perfect, Present Perfect Progressive). Use the editing checklist on pg. 16. Remember to include both action and non- actions verbs, adverbs and adjectives too.

Second Writing Assignment Instructions: Write a five-paragraph essay (200- 250 words) on an experience that you have had that turned out differently from what you expected. Remember to use past time verb constructions (Focus on grammar pg. 33) Remember to underline the past time verbs (Simple Past, Past Progressive, Present Perfect, Past Perfect, Past Perfect Progressive, future in past, used to/would+verb). Use the editing checklist on pg. 33.
