OMNI DIRECTIONAL TOOL-MULTI THICKNESS
ODT-MTTM
ODT-MT is one of the most advanced technologies in well completion
integrity evaluation. As a 1-11/16” (43mm) diameter tool, it can be run
through tubing and used to inspect the condition of the casing by
calculating both the tubing and the annular casing thickness. This
allows for greatly reduced operating costs and eliminates the need for
a work-over to pull the tubing string for evaluating the casing
condition. It is also fully combinable and capable of running
simultaneously with a full array of existing tools including caliper and
RBT.
The working principle is based on Pulsed
Eddy Current. Transmitter and receiver coils
are wound together on the same iron core.
When alternating driving pulses are sup-
plied to the emitting coil, eddy currents are
induced in the surrounding tubing
and/or casing which in turn generates a
signal in the receiving coil.
