1977:
January 1977; George and new girlfriend Olivia fly to India, then Mexico. Two years later,
George will describe 1977 as the “year I took off from music. I went to the races.”
Jan 10th: Apple and Allen Klein settle their lawsuit, the Klein receiving over $5 million from
apple. The beatles are now legally free to reunite.
Jan 19: John and Yoko attend the presidential Inauguration for Jimmy Carter. 3rd week Wings
Over America go #1 in America.
3rd week: Rports are that Linda is expecting a baby, due in September.
1st week feb: Paul and Wings begin recording sessions for London Town album at Abbey
RoadStudio in London.
March: John and Yoko will visit Singapore, Hong Kong, and Canada. When he receives his
green card.
March 29: George Martin discusses the upcoming release of the Beatles Hollywood Bowl
conerts from the mid 60s.
April 4th: Stand By Me and Dark Horse are both released as singles in the US.
A London court rules that the beatles live at the star club and amateur recording made Germany
during their 62 shows, can be released independently.
Allen Klein is indicated on charges offailing to report nearly 250k of income from Beatles
promotional items.
Aril 29th: An instrumental version of Paul’s Ram album called Thrillington is released in UK. US
in May.
May: The recording sessions for Wings London Town album continue on a floating recording
studio located on a yacht off the Virgin Islands.
May 2nd: The Beatles Live at the Star Club in hamburg is a double album released by Lingasong
Records.
May 6: George’s Martins remixed versions of the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl is released by
Emi
June: at Monte Carlo race rally, George and Olivia visit Ringo and Nancy. Ringo will begin
work on 4th album in Ny and LA. John, Yoko, and Sean, will spend four months visiting Japan
and Yoko’s family.
June: Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl is #1 in UK, the 12th #1 album for the beatles in UK.
June 9: georges divorce from Patti is finalized.
June 11: Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl goes to #2 in the US.
