1. Teacher's Guide _Pages
A. Preliminary Teacher’s Activity Learners’ Activity
1. Prayer Everyone please stands, arrange your chairs and pick up some pieces of paper. Let’s start our day with a prayer. Classmates, let us bow our heads and pray… Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen. 1. Greeting Good morning G6- Sapphire! How are you today? I’m glad to see you this morning. Good morning, Ma’am Good morning classmates! Nice to meet you all today! Mabuhay! Good afternoon teacher We’re fine teacher We’re glad to see you too! 1. Checking of Attendance Let us check your attendance. Secretary, who is absent today? Very good! Let's give yourselves a very good clap. (Demonstrate how to do very good clap) No one is absent in the class today ma’am. (The learners will do the clap.) 1. Reading of the House Rules Let's read some of the important classroom rules that you need to observe throughout this class. 1. Listen 2. Raise your right hand to answer 3. Avoid standing Do you all understand our classroom rules? Is it clear? (Will read the given classroom rules by the teacher.) Yes, teacher, we understand. 5. Review past lesson What topic did we take up last meeting? What are the kinds of sentences? Last meeting we talked about the kinds of sentences. The 4 kinds of sentences are simple sentence,
action or event.
2. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Divide the class into two. Let each group pick a representative. Flash a sentence on the slide. The representative will write either the cause or the effect on the board based on which they are assigned. Now, I will divide you into two. This will be the Group 1 (right wing) and this will be the Group 2 (left wing). Group 1 will pick a hero and Group 2 will also pick their hero. Are you done picking your heroes? Ok, heroes please claim your powerful chalk in front. In this activity, I will show a short story on the screen. From the given story, the hero from Group 1 will write the Cause on the board. The hero from Group 2 will then write the Effect on the board. Are you ready, class? Story 1: Story 2: Good job! Class, how were you able to distinguish the cause and effect from the story? (Learners will pick their hero.) Yes, ma’am Ida. (Heroes will go to the front.) Yes, teacher. Cause; Robin forgot to do his math homework last night. Effect; Robin’s teacher made him stay inside for recess to do his math homework. Cause; a gust of wind blew the cards from her arms Effect; they scattered all over the playground We look for what happened in the story as the effect and the reason why it happened as the cause. 3. Presenting Present more examples to the class
examples/instanc es of the new lesson and encourage every learner’s participation through action responses. Let’s have more examples on different texts that have cause and effect. Let’s read the following texts and try to identify the highlighted parts if it is a cause or an effect. If it is a ‘cause’ show me (arms together horizontally) and if it is ‘effect’ show me (circle hands). Text 1: Text 2: (Learners will show circle hands as effect .) (Learners will show arms together as cause .)
4. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # Discuss the cause-and-effect relationship.
I think it is because everything that happens will have a reason that it happened. Thus, an action will have both a reason and result.
8. Making generalization and abstraction about the lesson
Me ma’am! I have learned that there is text that shows cause-effect relationships where cause is why the action take place and effect is the action itself.
