Cell Adhesion: An Interactive Learning Activity, Slides of Molecular biology

An interactive classroom activity called 'acting it out!' where students act out the process of cell adhesion using meta strips to represent cell molecules and membranes. The activity covers the concept of cell adhesion, the role of cell adhesion molecules (cams), and the different types and functions of cams.

ACTIVITY: ACTING IT OUT!
Mechanics:
1.) The class will be divided into 2 groups.
2.) Each group will assign 7 students as the acting molecules written on the meta
strips. The rest will act as the cell membrane.
3.) The group will be given 3-5 minutes to collaborate among each other on how
to act the process of getting in and out of the different substances in the cell.
4.) During the presentation, each group will act the movements of the different
substances in the cell membrane. At the count of 5, the group will freeze leaving
some of the substances inside of the cell and some substances outside the cell
membrane.
5.) One will serve as the representative who will give us a brief description
about their output.
